Day 1 Cairo
No Meals
Upon arrival in Cairo Airport, transfer to your hotel for check in. Overnight in Cairo.

Day 2 Great Pyramids – El Khalili Bazaars
Breakfast
After breakfast at the hotel and check out, you will be taken to visit the Great Pyramids of Giza. It is the oldest of the “Seven Wonders of the Ancient World”, and the only one to remain largely intact. Next, visit the Sphinx, a limestone statue of a reclining mythical creature with a lion’s body and a human head. Proceed to the Egyptian Museum that contains the world’s most extensive collection of pharaonic antiquities. Then, you have free time to explore Khan El Khalili Bazaar, a major souk in Cairo. Return to the hotel and overnight in Cairo.

Day 3 Cairo – Nile River Cruise (Mon/Wed/Fri)
Breakfast / Lunch / Dinner
After breakfast and check out from the hotel, transfer to the airport for departure to Aswan. Upon arrival in Aswan, visit the Aswan High Dam that created the world’s largest artificial lake. Then, see the Unfinished Obelisk, the heaviest one ever cut in ancient Egypt, but abandoned after severe cracks were discovered. Visit the Temples of Philae. It was venerated from the Pharaonic era through the Greek, Roman, and Byzantine periods with each ruler making their own additions to the stones. Next, you will be transferred to the cruise ship for your Nile River cruise. Dinner and overnight on-board cruise ship in Aswan.

Day 4 Nile River Cruise
Breakfast / Lunch / Dinner
After breakfast, you are free at leisure or you may join the optional tour to Abu Simbel Excursion on your own expense. Next, have lunch while you sail to Kom Ombo. Visit the temple of Kom Ombo, dedicated for the gods Sobek and Haroeris. The temple is dedicated to two gods which leads to a duplicate of everything inside, and it is perfectly symmetrical along the main axis. Board the ship and sail to Edfu. Have dinner and overnight on board cruise ship in Edfu.

Optional: Abu Simbel Excursion
On day 4, you may opt for an excursion to the Abu Simbel temples. The twin temples were originally carved out of the mountainside during the reign of Pharaoh Ramesses II in the 13th century BC, as a lasting monument to himself and his queen Nefertari, to commemorate his victory at the Battle of Kadesh. The complex was relocated in its entirety in 1968, on an artificial hill made from a domed structure, high above the Aswan High Dam reservoir. One-way journey takes 3 hours by coach, and you will spend 2 hours exploring the temple complex.

Day 5 Nile River Cruise
Breakfast / Lunch / Dinner
After breakfast, visit the Temple of Edfu, dedicated to the falcon god Horus. It is one of the best preserved shrines in Egypt. The inscriptions on its walls provide important information on language, myth and religion during the Greco-Roman period in ancient Egypt. In particular, the Temple’s inscribed building texts provide details of its construction, and also preserve information about the mythical interpretation of this and all other temples as the Island of Creation. Then, lunch will be served on the sailing to Esna, where you will be cross the Esna Lock. Proceed to Luxor and overnight on board.

Day 6 Disembark – Luxor – Cairo
Breakfast
After breakfast, disembark from the cruise ship. Visit the West Bank, a haven of archaeological attractions. See the two colossi of Memnon, two massive statues of the Pharaoh Amhotep III. Memnon was a hero of the Trojan War, and he was associated with the statues because of the reported cry at dawn of the northern one. Continue to the Mortuary Temple of Hatshepsut, dedicated to the sun god Amun. Explore the Valley of the Kings, where for a period of 500 years from 16th to 11th century BC, tombs were constructed for the pharaohs and powerful nobles of the New Kingdom. Continue to East Bank, where you will find two of Egypt’s most important sites, the Luxor Temple and the sprawling Karnak Temple. Then, transfer to the Luxor airport for your flight to Cairo. Upon arrival in Cairo, transfer to the hotel and check in. Overnight in Cairo.

Day 7 Cairo – Departure
Breakfast
After breakfast at the hotel and check out, you are free at leisure to explore the city on your own or go bargain hunting at the local markets for souvenirs. Then, transfer to the airport for your departure flight back to Kuala Lumpur.
